How to transition your skin from summer to fall
Fall is here! The bright cool mornings and the crunchy leaves are exactly what we have been looking forward to all year! Our homes are ready to be cozy and our little ones are ready to trick-or-treat. But what about that beautiful skin of yours? We have some great advice on how to transition your skincare from summer to fall.
Switch your cleanser
As the weather changes from summer to fall the wind is going to drastically change. The heavy moist warm winds that we have grown accustomed to are soon to be gone for the rest of the year and then some. Now is the time to start adding deep moisturizing elements to your skincare regimen, starting with your cleanser. The lightweight foam cleanser may need to get a swap for a heavier cream based cleanser that will nourish your skin and clean without stripping the oils from you.
Cut back on exfoliation
We all have an understanding that exfoliation can help your skin renew itself and can create youthful glow. But because of the change in the weather, the hard colder winds can create irritation and can have a drying, damaging effect to your skin. By minimizing the frequency from once every week or two weeks, once a month during the colder months of the year will greatly benefit your skin for years to come.
Invest in a humidifier.
This may come as a surprise, but the outdoors isn’t the only place where moisture is scarce in the colder months. As the cold dry air blows on the outside, the heat inside of our home can also dry out our skin. Having a humidifier is a great way to add that extra moisture to your skin.
With the beauty that comes with the fall, the changing colors, the cozy cool nights, you can now rest assured with the knowledge to keep your skin healthy and flourishing all year long.
